Thousands of Kilometers in the Fight for Life

After a relapse of a rare and aggressive form of leukemia, Davy Nirdhani needed highly specialized treatment that was not available in her home country of Guyana. Her journey ultimately brought her to Armenia and the Yeolyan Hematology and Oncology Center, where Davy received the advanced, specialized care she needed.

Davy’s treatment was made possible through international cooperation and the joint support of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Armenia, the U.S.-based humanitarian organization SHEA Charity, as well as the City of Smile Charitable Foundation, donors, and partners.

Over the past several months, Davy has traveled a long and difficult journey — undergoing intensive chemotherapy, immunotherapy, a bone marrow transplant, numerous examinations, and medical procedures. There were difficult days and many challenges, but she faced every stage with extraordinary strength, courage, and faith.

Today, we have the most important news: Davy has overcome cancer.

Behind this victory stand the tireless dedication of her doctors, the love and faith of her family, and the effective cooperation established between countries and organizations — all united by one goal: to save a life.
