Laboratory of microbiology and production quality control
Founded in 1972 based on the former bacteriological laboratory, the Laboratory of Microbiology and Production Quality Control was established to carry out state-level quality control of blood components, blood products, blood substitutes, and preservation solutions.
Today, the laboratory’s scope has significantly expanded. It now performs a wide range of clinical-diagnostic and sanitary-microbiological investigations, as well as PCR (Polymerase Chain Reaction) testing, for patients with hematological disorders.
Laboratory Capabilities and Equipment
- Bact/Alert 3D System
This system is used for microbiological testing of blood and other sterile biological materials, including cerebrospinal fluid, punctates, exudates, transudates, and synovial fluid. - Antibiotic Susceptibility Testing
During testing, the optical density of bacterial suspensions is measured using a modern densitometer, in line with EUCAST (European Committee on Antimicrobial Susceptibility Testing) standards. Sensitivity to antibiotics is determined following EUCAST guidelines. - Bio-Rad Amplifier
Utilized for advanced PCR testing, enabling accurate molecular diagnostics.
