Innovative Cancer Treatment Methods Introduced at the Yeolyan Hematology and Oncology Center

“In recent years, significant progress has been made in the field of oncology both globally and in Armenia. New diagnostic techniques, radiation technologies, and drug therapy options are being introduced. However, one of the greatest challenges in Armenia remains the late presentation of patients,” said Dr. Samvel Bardakhchyan, Oncologist and Chemotherapist at the Yeolyan Hematology and

Oncology Center of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Armenia, in an interview for the “Ask the Doctor” podcast by Armenpress.

The field of clinical trials is also developing in Armenia. Currently, four ongoing studies are being conducted at the Yeolyan Center for the treatment of various types of cancer. These studies provide patients with access to innovative medications that meet international standards.

According to Dr. Bardakhchyan, clinical trials are of great importance in the treatment of all diseases, and especially cancer. They are a globally accepted practice that enables the discovery and introduction of new therapeutic approaches.

“Our goal is to increase Armenia’s involvement in international clinical research so that patients can gain early access to new treatment methods. Every day is crucial for a person living with cancer, and we must create this opportunity right here, in Armenia,” emphasized Dr. Bardakhchyan.
