Around 100–120 New Cases of Childhood Cancer Are Registered in Armenia Each Year/ Public TV / Grigor Vardanyan, Julieta Hoveyan

Childhood cancer is not a verdict. Although the diagnosis is a major challenge for every family, thanks to advances in medicine and the availability of modern treatment methods in Armenia, many children successfully overcome the disease and return to a full and active life. Treatment outcomes in our country are comparable to international data.

Ahead of this important day, the program “Aravot Luso” hosted Grigor Vardanyan, pediatric hematologist, and Julieta Hoveyan, pediatric hematologist-oncologist of “Yeolyan” Hematology and Oncology Center.

According to the specialists, approximately 100–120 new cases of childhood cancer are registered annually in Armenia. Among them, malignant blood diseases are the most common, followed by tumors of the central nervous system.

Every step toward greater awareness can become another child’s chance at life.
