Outpatient Blood Transfusion — A New Service at the “Yeolyan” Center
A new service — blood transfusion in outpatient settings — has been introduced at the Yeolyan Hematology and Oncology Center.
The Center is among the few medical institutions in Armenia where blood transfusions are performed by transfusiologists (physicians specialized in transfusion medicine), ensuring full professional supervision and control over the entire process. The service is provided in a technically equipped and safe environment.
Outpatient blood transfusion is carried out in full compliance with all stages of the transfusion process, including:
- Determination of the patient’s blood group and Rh factor,
- Selection of compatible donor blood,
- Performance of a biological compatibility test (trial transfusion),
- The transfusion procedure itself and post-transfusion monitoring.
Currently, this service is available exclusively at the Blood Bank of the Yeolyan Center. Still, plans are in place to expand its availability to regional branches of the Blood Service in the near future.
