September – Childhood Cancer Awareness Month

Worldwide, childhood cancer remains one of the most common diseases among children. In Armenia, approximately 100–120 new cases are registered each year.

If a child shows signs such as paleness, unexplained fatigue, dizziness, headaches, or the appearance of lumps and bruises on the body, it is essential to consult a doctor immediately. Early detection of cancer can dramatically change the course of the disease and help prevent potential complications.

Dr. Ruzanna Papyan, Head of the Pediatric Oncology Department at the Yeolyan Hematology and Oncology Center of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Armenia, and Dr. Anahit Zakharyan, Pediatric Hematologist at the Clinical Department of Pediatric Hematology and Chemotherapy, were guests on Public TV’s “Aravot Luso” program to raise public awareness once again about childhood cancer.
