Mari Petrosyan, pediatric hematologist at the Yeolyan Hematology and Oncology Center, spoke about anemia during an interview on the “Buzh Info” program on SHANT TV.

The specialist noted that several signs may indicate anemia in children, including:

  • general weakness,
  • dizziness,
  • pale skin,
  • changes in nails and hair,
  • decreased appetite,
  • craving for non-food substances (such as clay, soil, ice, etc.).

During the interview, the pediatric hematologist also addressed the following topics:

  • The possible causes of anemia in children,
  • which foods are rich in iron, and why red meat is important in a child’s diet,
  • how diagnosis and treatment are carried out.
