Head of the Pediatric Oncology Department, Ruzanna Papyan, Successfully Defends PhD Dissertation

Ruzanna Papyan, Head of the Pediatric Oncology Department at the Yeolyan Hematology and Oncology Center, has successfully defended her PhD dissertation titled:

“Predictive Factors of Survival in Children and Adolescents with Musculoskeletal Sarcomas in Armenia.”

The study presents data on patients’ clinical course and treatment outcomes, as well as clearly assessed survival indicators. In particular, for localized disease, the three-year survival rate was 80% in patients under 18 years of age, compared with 62.5% in the 18–25 age group, highlighting a significant difference between age groups.

The dissertation also presents the outcomes of collaboration with partners in Germany, demonstrating how this cooperation has significantly improved the management of musculoskeletal sarcomas in Armenia.

With this achievement, Dr. Papyan joins the ranks of many specialists on our team holding advanced scientific degrees, forming an important foundation for the delivery of high-quality medical care.

We congratulate Dr. Ruzanna Papyan on this important achievement and wish her continued success in her scientific and professional endeavors.
